“Plato O Plomo” – Washington’s Gangster Way
A Commentary By Howard Rich
December 30, 2009
During the 1980’s, Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar built a global cocaine cartel of unrivaled power and influence based on a simple philosophy, Plato O Plomo.
Translated literally that means “silver or lead,” but every Colombian knew what it really meant – “money or bullets.” Either you took Escobar’s bribe, or you dealt with Escobar’s wrath.
Today, these thuggish tactics are alive and well in – of all places – Washington, D.C., a city where two decades ago officials were busy hunting down criminals like Escobar. Meanwhile elsewhere in the United States, stealing from Medicaid has replaced cocaine dealing as the most practiced, most profitable form of white collar crime – another reason Barack Obama and his Congressional allies should think long and hard before they expand governmental “control” of this industry.
Yet as another unprecedented Washington power grab takes shape, Plato O Plomo indeed appears to have been adopted by Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate President Harry Reid as theirmodus operandi for passing an un-American socialized medicine proposal that America doesn’t want and cannot afford.

In the future, there will be no question who Americans should blame for what is guaranteed to be a disaster for health care delivery, and the American economy

Howard Dean Steps Up Attacks on Health Care Compromise
"Honestly the best thing to do right now is kill the Senate bill, go back to the House, start the reconciliation process, where you only need 51 votes and it would be a much simpler bill."
Democrats, and President Obama remain committed to Health Care Reform Passage by Christmas
It remains to be seen if the party faithful will walk-the-plank, and commit political suicide for the President’s ambitions. Most Americans simply want the Congress to take time and pass the best legislation possible. Most still don't want a Public Option, or to have freedom of choice about health care put under government control.

64% Expect Washington Politics To Become Even More Partisan - December 11, 2009
In his inaugural address, President Obama proclaimed "an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have strangled our politics."
This will never happen with one party closed-door meetings, and we can only assume this is the way the President wants it. This White House is not respectful of the opinions of others.
Tea Party Tops GOP on Three-Way Generic Ballot

The latest Rasmussen poll shows that the Republicans should not be encouraged that declining support for President Obama, and Democrats mean that the GOP is gaining ground with the voting public.
The poll asked likely voters whom they would vote for in the next election if the Tea Party organized as a political party. It seems neither party should feel they have a lock on the next elections.
Democratic 36%
Tea Party 23%
Republican 18%

Cap'n trade – National Suicide
This is just the type of dim-witted politically motivated decision making by politicians that will cost the American people dearly as our Government acts for the benefit of other countries and those who will make billions on "Green Energy". How can anyone now serving in the US Government want to commit billions of American dollars to support the United Nations and our competitors in China, India and the undeveloped nations? All who are waiting for America to give money, which we cannot afford. This like most things under this administration's rule will be attempted either on the sly or by brute political force.
Climate Deal Likely to Bear Big Price Tag. The Obama Administration does not respond to the fact that this will increase taxes on businesses, increase the cost of energy to Americans and ultimately cost jobs in an already declining economy. They are only intent on reaching their goals which are detrimental to the economy.
